Box N Burn: boxing technique in cross-training

Taekwondo and boxing are distinct arts, each with its own movement and training culture. A strong cross-training connection can add another way to understand striking and movement.

Box N Burn Academy emblem

Box N Burn is part of the history of a boxing education program now presented as Boxing Fitness Academy by Tony Jeffries. The official academy website describes courses for trainers in boxing technique and boxing fitness, and says Jeffries co-founded the Box ’N Burn boxing gyms in Los Angeles.

What boxing education adds

Boxing practice emphasizes hands, footwork, defense, distance, and combinations. Taekwondo has its own technical foundations and traditions. Learning across disciplines can offer useful perspective, while each skill should be practiced in the class and context where it belongs.

The Bulsajo connection

Bulsajo’s Box N Burn page identifies its instructor’s certification through the academy and connects that training to the boxing technique used in the studio’s Women’s Kickboxing class. This is a boxing fitness education connection; it is separate from Taekwondo rank, Kukkiwon certification, and Taekwondo competition rules.

Students can ask the instructor how a class is structured, what equipment is used, and which skills are being practiced. As with any new activity, people can take time to observe, ask questions, and choose what fits their goals.
