Little Tigers
Thirty-five minutes at a time, for children who are still learning to stand still. The first thing they practise is listening.
Their First Martial Art
Little Tigers gives ages three to five a first martial arts class in a 35-minute session. The work starts with basic stances and kicks, then builds balance, coordination, listening and confidence.
Classes are at the Clewiston Youth Center, 110 W Osceola Ave, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:00 to 5:30 PM. Little Tigers is $175 a month.
No martial arts experience is needed. The first month is $75, uniform included, with no contract.
What they actually work on
Basic stances and kicks, balance and coordination, listening and following instructions, plus games with martial arts themes.
Where it leads
At five they move up into the Children class, which runs the traditional Moodukkwan forms and the eleven-rank belt ladder from white to 1st Dan.
